Cornelia Kavanagh hohle Goddess of Hohle Fels Hohle Fels is the oldest known sculpture of a human figure. Given her enormous breasts and exaggerated genitalia, her discoverer considered her the “essence of being female.” Anthropologists have suggested Hohle Fels symbolizes “hope for survival within well-nourished and reproductively successful communities.” The loop in place of a head indicates this tiny figure was worn as an amulet, presumably so her symbolic power could be visible to others.
